Balnarring Beach & the Zig Zag Groyne

Writer's picture: Vicki WalshVicki Walsh

The groynes at Balnarring Beach are there to reduce erosion at the water’s edge. Most of the groynes are simply a line of posts connected together by planks creating a straight sea wall. But at one end of the beach the groyne is in a zig zag shape which makes for a more interesting composition.
